absolute joke.
Good day
Being a public holiday today, i took my kids out for breakfast to the above mentioned store. they love the jungle gym/ play area there. I ordered the Cheddar melt chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce and for my two kids, i ordered the fish fingers.
A few minutes later, our drinks order arrived, Fanta orange for me and two milk shakes for the kids (one bubble gum and the other chocolate). Another few minutes went by and our order arrived.
First impressions (of my schnitzel) weren't very good because i am a chef and i expect things to be visually appealing. the chips looked like a small portion (i even asked the waitress and she said, that's the full portion). secondly the mushroom sauce looked like a blob of mushroom coated in white sauce, as if it was a starch based sauce that been in the fridge and instead of being runny, it just sat on the cheese.
I had my first bite of the schnitzel and it tasted nice. second slice was deeper into the schnitzel and to my horror, the schnitzel was raw. Immediately i check my kids fish finger, they too were raw (and my daughter had eaten 1.5 of the 3 fish fingers). I immediately call the waitress and ask to pay for our drinks, she apologises and takes the food away. comes back a few minutes later to say she'd voided the entire order.
1. The manager was not informed at all (i blame myself for not raising that to the manager)
2. Are there any checks being done on the food to see that the schnitzel & fish fingers are cooked through before being served?? It can't be enough just to look at the golden brown outside.
3. Are these ready made items cooked straight from frozen?? It would explain why today happened.
4. It may be a quiet day today because people are at work and your kitchen is not busy but its no excuse for food that we got.
Unfortunately i neglected to take pictures of the food as i just lost my appetite, but i know for a fact there are cameras in that restaurant. Please investigate and ensure that this never happens again, because this could have easily ended badly not just for you, but my kids are still at risk of food poisoning.
