Conclusion: Upscale snack bar. Fast, tasty and not too expensive. The Cố Đô (German: Old Capital) is a cozy Vietnamese snack bar with a handful of seats (in the summer it's also great outside directly on the Alsterdorf market square. You can usually get a seat even when the sun is shining and at lunchtime. The atmosphere is simple but clean. The only thing that spoils the overall impression a little is that the chef sometimes takes a break to smoke right in the entrance area. Likewise, there are supplies and other things lying around in the back of the guest room that could have been put away. Even on the toilet. But it is very clean. The staff (I suspect a family business) is friendly and we prepare our food quickly. The quality of the food is quite good for the prices charged. The vegetables are crunchy, the herbs are fresh and the spiciness of the food is appropriate (spicy when spicy, mild when mild). The lunch menu is ok at 10-12 EUR. Vegetarians get their money's worth as well as meat lovers. Order and pay (cash only) at the counter. Served at the table. A high chair for children is available.
