Some points I have to raise that Warrant a 2 star

Pro’s:
- good pork belly
- Great views

Cons:
- dirty cutlery with old food still on it
- Whiskey glass had old lemon bits still in it
- Lamb shank promised a red wine and mushroom sauce but instead got a curried lamb shank which the chef then apologized for (still not okay)
- Menu prices were different which came as a surprise when the menu came and what you thought was a R68 glass of wine was actually a R80 glass of wine with the waiter then saying , ya they just change the prices (again not okay)
- Service was bad

The reality is as we got there we were thinking this would be a great place to come stay for a booked, the sad truth is we won’t be coming back.

The food was not bad, the pizza was a bit over cooked and the bread on the sandwich was really crispy. The milkshakes are really good, but the cocktails were not that great. The service was really fast and the view is amazing (see photo).

The Vineyard Terrace is like a country café hidden deep in the lush vineyards in Stellenbosch. A relaxed environment surrounded by beautiful views and has a little something for everyone including our kids ????....yay for all.

Our table was varied from adult to kid and we indulged ourselves with the gin tasting, whiskey tasting pairing, wine pairing and then for the little ones....virgin strawberry daiquiri's. Everything was wonderful but for the tasting and pairings would have preferred a more personal touch, i.e. a verbal explanation instead of just placing it in front of you.

The rest of our meal was good and I would definitely be back for a lazy Sunday meal. From our platter to the caramel pork belly we had no complaints. Everything was flavourful and well presented. Comfort food in a country setting at its best.

I will definitely be back and I'm even tempted to make it a weekend getaway at the hotel, because it does feel like another world even though so close to Cape Town.
