From the moment we were greeted, the waitress just had not even an inch of a friendly personality. I love coffee but definitely did not enjoy the 3 sips of my cappuccino that I ordered. We ordered 2 burgers medium to well done. 1 came rare and the other medium rare. Something about the patty just didn’t taste right, like it was off. I had a stomach ache about 20 minutes after leaving. We didn’t even eat half a burger between the 2 of us. The barista also did not know what a milk alternative was even though he thinks he made my coffee with oat milk when it was actually almond. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We left after paying the bill and went across the road to Slops where we had great food and great service Meal type: Lunch Price per person: R 100–200 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Very good meal at the Sanctuary. I had the vegetable soup to start, which was lightly curried and beautifully warming. I then had the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce, which was cooked perfectly to medium rare and beautifully tender and served with well-seasoned chips. I finished off with a beautiful Malva Pudding, which was decadent, and thankfully not as sweet as a sticky toffee pudding, making it a good way to finish the meal. Highly recommended. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: R 500–600 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

During our light lunch visit, the service struck the perfect balance—attentive without being intrusive.
