Ordered a cake for a birthday, it was a take away. When eating the cake the ‘eclairs’ on top (which were actually profiteroles since they are round) had cream inside which was soured and tasted like vomit. When complaining we describe the profiteroles as profiteroles. Response was rude and we were told that there was nothing wrong and that due to an incorrect description of the product a 15% refund only could be offered. There was not apology for the spoilt cream nor any investigation into the issue, ie trying cakes of the same batch, this meaning others would potentially also be given ruined cream. And the response of an incorrect description meaning that a refund couldn’t be made is an especially obnoxious one. Even more so given that the cake box description is incorrect not ours. Wouldn’t order from here again or advise anyone else too! For Cake box reference Profiteroles and eclairs are both made from choux pastry but differ primarily in shape and sometimes filling. Eclairs are oblong and typically filled with pastry cream, while profiteroles are round and often filled with whipped cream or ice cream. Food: 1 Service: 1
