Yesterday we visited Sumo Hilversum to celebrate my husband's birthday. During our visit we experienced a few things that we would like to bring to your attention. During our stay we felt uncomfortable due to the behavior of Mrs. Shaline, who we understood was in charge. Her constant presence and attention did not make us feel at ease. Although we were satisfied with the quality of the sushi and the friendly behavior of the other servers, we experienced an unpleasant end to our dinner. At checkout we discovered unexpected items on our receipt, including an extra drink that was allegedly added according to a rule. We lacked clarity about this during our meal. In addition, there was an unexplained surcharge of €3 for 3 pieces of maki sushi, which we were not informed about when clearing our table. The interaction with Ms. Shaline was perceived as unprofessional and unfriendly. Her attitude and communication skills left much to be desired. We hope that more attention will be paid to customer satisfaction and professional behavior in the future. We regret to say that we do not intend to return to your restaurant if these issues are not addressed. Kid-friendliness: Following our recent visit to Sumo Hilversum, I would like to bring to your attention an issue that unpleasantly surprised us. During our dinner, my child was accosted by Mrs. Shaline for taking three throat sweets, stating that only one sweet per person was allowed. Although we understand policies regarding consumption, we found the way my child was addressed to be customer unfriendly. This incident negatively affected our experience and made us decide not to return to your establishment.
