Small restaurant directly on the sea, it lifted our spirits after a "wrong" day. Two appetizers (fried courgette flowers stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella and ham and fried anchovies) and two first courses (excellent scialatielli in white, upon our request, with mussels and clams), a quarter of falanghina, water and a coffee for 71 euros. Not cheap but considering the portions and quality, as well as the beautiful location, we were satisfied. Narrow and steep road to reach it, we parked higher up and walked 5 minutes. A few kilometers outside the busy streets of Sorrento is a tiny cove, Marina di Puolo, which hosts this absolutely fantastic family restaurant. After you sun and bath in the cozy cove, you step off the sand into the casual Ristorante St. Raphael. The meal started with the Spaghetti Vongole and ends with Penne con Zucchine; and in between was Pizza Pancetta and Gnocchi Sorrentina: each was so rich in flavor. The family traditions are embedded in every bite. While the family settled into the accompanying properties as early as 1910, it was only fitting to be served by the family's youth, Martino, who kindly guided us through their menu offerings. We will return.
