Leider hatten wir schon gegessen, deswegen nur noch ein Drink und ein Dessert (köstliche Lemontarte mit Meringue). Aber Morgen werden wir wiederkommen. Die experimentelle Karte mit ungewöhnlicher Kombination ausgewählter Zutaten macht einem den Mund wässrig und das Essen reihum sah köstlich aus.

By chance we found this "Bistrot", which is clearly a restaurant. Already during our first visit it was clear to us that, if possible, we would like to eat here again before our return flight and have a nice time. The food is absolutely top notch, even though as Germans we tend to eat smaller amounts in the evening compared to Italians. Here you usually dine extensively, three or even four courses and then dessert are not the exception but the rule. How Italians tend to be so slim is a mystery to us. At the Old Friend Bistrot, no one rolls their eyes when we as tourists order the small dishes we are used to, just one course with dessert if necessary. This restaurant is not about making as much profit as possible. The prices of the dishes are comparable to those found in “tourist restaurants”. At the same time, the quality of the products used and the dishes presented here is not at all comparable to those in tourist restaurants. Intense taste nuances, aromas, perfect consistencies, matching drinks, water, beers and a hand-picked wine list let us marvel and immerse ourselves in enjoyment. But what would the most delicious dishes be without adequate service? At the Old Friend Bistrot you will be welcomed and welcomed exactly as the name suggests: Like a good old friend. A person you look forward to pampering and entertaining. We are people of a certain age and are lucky enough to have been able to visit many good restaurants. And even in star resorts you can sometimes find hosts who unfortunately aren't actually hosts. You are a host, or you are not. You cannot acquire this quality by being sent to the most highly decorated catering and hotel schools. You have this quality in your blood, in your heart. And the Garçons at the Old Friend Bistrot are hosts par excellence. And this is not fake or played, but completely natural. You can tell these people immediately that they enjoy the task. So we actually came back to the Old Friend Bistrot and really enjoyed our last evening in Sardinia. Not just in terms of cuisine, but above all because of the attentive, warm and great service in this extraordinary restaurant in Cagliari, which for us, who were able to travel all over Sardinia and visit numerous restaurants, is the best restaurant in Sardinia. If you always want to enjoy a great time with culinary delights and warm hosts without any snooty behavior, we heartily recommend this great restaurant like good old friends. Grazie Mille Amici.
