Komm her für etwas Ruhe nach einem langen Spaziergang um Palazzo Malaspina. Taucht ein in die großartige italienische Küche in diesem Lokal. Viele Besucher finden, dass sie hier perfekt zubereitene Ravioli, gut zubereitete Ente und besonders gute Steaks bestellen können. Bestellt guten Chianti-Wein.

I found La Toppa through a search and it had high marks for the Michelin recognition and obviously the food. We had planned on a local winery tasting close by following our meal, so we were in a bit of a rush. We ordered large plates of pasta for our table of 11 and the pasta was as very tasty. As other reviews online stated, the duck pasta was my favorite. The ragu was perfectly seasoned and the duck was very tender. Overall I would recommend this location. The town is cute and very similar to other places you will find in Tuscany.

San Donato La Toppa (Antica Trattoria) We had the pleasure of visiting a charming little town called San Donato. What made it extra special is having lunch at La Toppa. The restaurant is a Michelin recognized restaurant. We went a bit early to secure a table since we did not have lunch reservations. Service was very prompt and helpful in making selections. My wife and I both had pasta's. They were a good choice since I felt that they were the best pasta dishes we had during our 16-day holiday in Italy. The nice surprise was the pricing. Being Michelin recognized and serving this quality of food, I would have anticipated much higher prices. Clearly La Toppa should be on everyone's itinerary if you are in Tuscany.

An authentic little restaurant in the country side of Tuscany, delicious comfort food, and an exquisite service… you can’t ask for more! Will return for sure. A special thank you to Luigi for a great hospitality.
