Historic Chinese restaurant in Turin, very large so you can find a table even if you go at the last second like us on a Saturday evening. Very nice place with a traditional style, good food, many dishes even more difficult to find elsewhere, more refined, honest prices. The service was a little long, too long to wait for the first one but overall it was normal. Be careful when ordering sake, we ordered three and three bottles arrived, we were thinking of three glasses! Overall I recommend it! For years I lived and worked in via Frejus, a stone's throw from this place. When we wanted to eat out without taking the car this was one of our destinations. I continued to frequent it afterwards but in the last year I haven't been there anymore, so I'm not aware of the latest management and quality changes that some are talking about. I can refer to the restaurant as I knew it from 2010 to the beginning of 2023. Typical oriental restaurant in Turin, one of those very popular in the 90s and up to the early 2000s: stylistically there are numerous references to the East, carved frames gilded, decorations, vases and furnishings, red satin and rice paper prints... Even the presence of an aquarium (and this I must say is very beautiful) was very much a classic in the decades I was talking about. It all brought to mind (at least to me) the typical restaurants of China or rather of the Chinese "Chinatown" neighborhood of San Francisco, those of many Hollywood martial arts films... Nowadays the majority of Chinese restaurants in Italy they have changed style, they have become westernized or at least they have adopted a more modern and refined style, perhaps with some slight hints of an oriental style... This is not the case with this place. The furnishings have remained virtually unchanged over the years. As regards dimensions, the restaurant has a large rectangular room that leads to a small secluded room, another circular room on the other side of the bar and a summer terrace on the internal parallel street, behind the restaurant. There are therefore many seats, which allows us to manage the large influx of customers quite quickly. The menu includes all the most classic traditional Chinese dishes as well as various Korean and Vietnamese dishes. Personally, I have always appreciated the mixed Chinese starter, the chicken with almonds or the one with grilled potatoes, the spicy Vietnamese chicken, the veal with bamboo and mushrooms, the steamed meat ravioli, the sautéed spaghetti with vegetables, the duck sweet and sour, the imperial rolls as well as the spring rolls and then the spaghetti with prawns, the grilled skewers, the fried ice cream, the grappas... they were all cooked reasonably well until I ate in this place... The prices were there I have always considered them a little excessive, not in relation to the quality of the raw materials used but to the type of dishes offered in general by this type of cuisine and in any case high compared to those of other Chinese restaurants of the same level. However, the service was always precise, the staff friendly, competent and very professional. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
