Fantastic fish restaurant. Interior is very clean. We tried the salmon risotto, trout fillet and fish soup. Fish was fresh and delicious!

So pleased we tried this restaurant and glad we had booked, make sure you do as its a way to go to be told they have no availability. The food is delicious, service excellent and the restaurant itself is cosy & comfortable. Now getting here, you are on a dirt/single track road and if you are british you would turn round thinking you are entering someone's private land but follow Google maps and it will take you to it, ypubare on the right road. It's a fish farm so the fish is super fresh, you can not get any fresher than fishing for it yourself. It is full of locals but the staff spoke excellent English and were very welcoming. The seats are really comfy (very important to me) and the menu has lots to choice, you dont have to just have fish, they have risotto, chicken, salads, bbq food so dont think you can only order fish. Again very important to me is toilets were clean, they also had a baby changing toilet. Basically it was excellent and I would recommend trying, as I said if you from UK then you may think where has she sent us but it is a full of locals so you know the food is good. They have a play area for children, a sitting outside area, I notice they had a couple of animals but didnt go over to them. Large carpark. I would book before you go as it is very popular and gets busy lunch and evenings. Pictures show the track road, signs up so you know going right way and the house is the restaurant which is on the left hand side of parking area. We have booked to go back again as it was lovely and want to try something else of menu. My husband had the fillet trout and it was really tasty, he never normally has fish as it can be bland but not here. I had the BBQ pork shoulder which I found a little fatty but to be fair I thought it was going to be like pulled pork so my misunderstanding. Also one of the reviews said shame about smoking inside, they were all smoking outside today so the restaurant obviously took what you said and listened which being a non smoking was great to eat in a restaurant that is not full of smoke/vapes. Be brave and give this place a go and hopefully like us you won't be disappointed. The pictures show restaurant empty as we were there 1.30 till 3.30, was packed when we arrived so if you dont book best going between 3 & 5 but if you can I would advise booking to be on safe side. I would never have heard about Izvoro if I hadn't been brought there by people who spend a lot of weekends and holidays in Bansko. They know it from other frequent visitors, and they know it from locals. The place is not that impressive at first glance, but it has a lot of strengths. Read on to find out what they are. See .... . After overcoming a rather bad road with many road bumps and holes, and you get to a place that can be defined as the middle of nowhere, you see a tolerable building, but around quite a lot mud, not very impressive, and the season was such that this defect was intensified; . Simple interior, but neat, inside there is a corner with toys for children, but next to the tables, and outside a playground; . It the weekend is it packed with people. Most of them are locals, because tourists can't go there if they haven't been told about the restaurant; . Two large fishponds next to the restaurants supply it with fresh fish, a real spring is bubbling nearby. ............. . There is also a barn with 2 deers. Probably the idea is to make children happy. However, I find it cruel to these animals; . A small informative menu in which you have options for freshwater fish - several species of trout, catfish, carp. ............. Feel . . People try hard to offer good service, although we waited a long time to order, then for the fish - when the restaurant is full, things are difficult; . There is a lot of crowds over the weekend, you need a reservation, otherwise it is a waste of time and spare car parts on the road to the place. Hear . . Bulgarian pop - it was very nice, but the songs were repeated, obviously the list was short; . If your table is next to the children's corner, you will be in an awkward position - there is a piano toy and if a young Rachmaninoff comes to play, it's a lot of fun. :) .......... Smell .... . Everything is fresh, the fish too, it doesn't smell of mud, because the water in the fishponds is constantly refreshed, so you can safely go for a carp meal if the smell usually stops you. Taste .... The biggest plus in this place are the fresh and delicious products. Here even winter tomatoes are tasty. . Smoked trout salad - wonderful, (I even made the same one at home when I got home)- no fish, no avocado, no cedar nuts were spared; . Fresh fish, baked or fried- very tasty; . Fish soup, if you are a fan, you can also try it; . Quite tasty French fries, the material itself is nice, because it's a little sweet - when they give you some, you make a carb bomb. One visits fish restaurant Izvoro because they were recommended and because of the fish. What would make them come back are the delicious products, including the fish, they put in the dishes and the completely normal prices. Despite the unpleasant road to the restaurant, I would visit Izvoro, because it is delicious there, and I guess in the summer will be green around, there will be no mud and it will be nice in the yard.
