RESPONSE to MANAGER's REPLY: Dec 23, 2025 Yes — it was absolutely your hotel, Hotel delle Nazioni in Rome. There is no confusion, no mistaken property, and no ambiguity. What is troubling is your attempt to distance yourself from an incident that involved multiple phone calls between Expedia and your hotel over the course of two days. Expedia did not invent this issue, and your property did not “lack awareness.” Your staff made a deliberate decision to refuse accommodation unless an additional charge was paid. To state the facts clearly: • I booked two rooms • I explicitly selected a wheelchair-accessible room during the booking process using Expedia’s dropdown menu before payment • This was not a last-minute request • This was not an upgrade request • This involved an elderly guest who requires a walker/wheelchair Despite this, your hotel: 1. Refused to provide an accessible room without charging more 2. Declined to waive the cancellation penalty 3. Denied responsibility when confronted For transparency, Expedia confirmed in writing—after speaking directly with your hotel—that your property declined to honor the request: “After contacting the property, they’ve decided to uphold the original cancellation policy and have declined the waiver request.” Claiming now that “no request was received” directly contradicts Expedia’s documented communication with your hotel. Labeling wheelchair-accessible rooms as “Executive upgrades” that cost extra is deeply concerning. Accessibility is not a luxury feature, and treating it as such—especially for elderly guests—is unacceptable. Your suggestion that returning guests must book directly or email personally in order to receive basic accommodation is irrelevant and evasive. Accessibility obligations do not disappear because a reservation was made through a legitimate booking platform. This response does nothing to address the core issue and instead attempts to deflect, deny, and minimize a serious failure in guest care. I stand fully by my original review. Travelers — particularly families with elderly or mobility-impaired guests — should be aware of how accessibility requests are handled here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: Dec 22, 2025 My wife and I stayed here two months ago and returned as repeat customers, this time traveling with my elderly mother who uses a portable walker/wheelchair. What happened was completely unacceptable. We selected a wheelchair-accessible room at the time of booking. This was not a later request. The hotel then attempted to charge extra to provide that accessible room and refused to correct the issue. Charging guests more for accessibility — or refusing to honor an accessibility booking — is outrageous. The staff showed no urgency, no accountability, and no concern for an elderly guest with mobility needs. What makes this worse is that we were returning customers, yet were treated with indifference and rigid excuses instead of basic professionalism. Hotel management should respond publicly and explain why accessible rooms selected at booking suddenly cost more, and why an elderly guest using a walker/wheelchair was treated this way. We will never return and strongly warn others — especially families with elderly or mobility-impaired travelers — to stay elsewhere.

Dear Chris,we are sorry to inform you that the facts did not occur as described in your message. We replied to the request through the Expedia extranet, and we did not receive any direct communication or phone calls from Expedia regarding this matter. We would also like to clarify that our hotel does not have wheelchair-accessible rooms in the Superior category; accessible rooms are available only in the Classic and Executive categories. For this reason, we invited Expedia to proceed according to the available options.Furthermore, the cancellation penalty was never charged, as we accepted the reservation to be cancelled free of charge. This was already communicated to Expedia, contrary to what you were informed. For this reason, we kindly ask you to reconsider and remove your review, as it does not reflect the reality of the facts. We have already opened a case with Expedia to review this situation together. We would also like to reiterate that, in situations like this, it is often more effective to contact the hotel directly rather than going only through agencies, so that we can provide immediate and accurate assistance.Thank you for attentionBest regards,Hotel ManagerDear Guest, thank you for your review. We must admit that at first it was not very clear, but only after a careful analysis were we able to fully understand the situation.According to our records, you stayed with us about two months ago with a Classic room booking. The review you are referring to, however, concerns a future reservation for May 2026, for which, if you check, you have already received a reply through the extranet as well. For this booking, you reserved two Superior rooms and added a note requesting that one of them be accessible. Unfortunately, our hotel does not have accessible Superior rooms. For this reason, we proposed an Executive room, which is a higher category, with a price difference. We also clearly stated that, although the reservation is non-refundable, we would accept a cancellation without any penalty should our proposal not meet your expectations — a flexibility that very few hotels offer nowadays for non-refundable rates. We truly believe that we did our best to accommodate all your needs, and for this reason we are surprised by this review, which does not accurately reflect the facts. As this is a future reservation, you could also have contacted us directly at any time for clarification. In light of the above, and in order to be fair to both parties, we kindly ask you to consider removing this inaccurate review, as we have made every effort to assist you and come to your aid.Thank you for your understanding.Best regards,Hotel Manager
