Well, finally I managed to visit one of the restaurants of this chain, and this is my experience.
----------------------------
I went on a Thursday night and the place was packed. This is often a good sign. That is: often, not always.
I decided not to call to reserve to see how they managed an unexpected client. In less than 2 minutes, I was shown to my table in a comfortable position. The waiter with the menus came immediately after and they gave me about 10 minutes to make my choices before they took the order.
I decided to have a pizza with hot salami, a bottle of water, a beer, and a licorice mousse as dessert, and a coffee.
A gracious sign warned me that when 100 clients are seated - and this was the case - pizzas may require 40 to 50 minutes to be served... What?! Are you kidding me?! If I were an entrepreneur, I would suspect they have serious operation management issues...
No one checked on me to know if I wanted to order, let alone to offer, some appetizers to make up for the long wait. Moreover, the waiter quickly removed the other chair at my table without even asking in order to seat people at another table.
The quality of the pizza was above average. The dough was well balanced in terms of both ingredients and texture and just as thin as one would expect in Rome. Also the spicy taste of the salami did not predominate. One minor remark: the tomato sauce was added butter to smooth it: big mistake.
On a more pleasant note, I particularly liked the Konig Ludwig Weissbier.
The licorice mousse was quite disappointing, instead.
First of all, I asked for the coffee and the dessert at the same time. While the former arrived after 2 minutes, the latter took 10 minutes to arrive and was served in a small glass jar. However, it was just cooked cream with licorice flavor floating on a thick layer of licorice-flavored liquor whose taste completely predominated over the mousse itself. Do you want to spoil the delicacy of a mousse? Just blend it with a strong liquor and the damage is done... I did not eat it, though.
The total bill was 23.00 euros.
I want to go back and try some dishes from the restaurant menu.
