The good: Very attractive space, great people watching, well thought out menu which although not expansive, has a good selection of tasty sounding dishes to pick from. Starter of fried zucchini blossoms were perhaps the best I've ever tasted (including my own). Incredibly light, not at all greasy, and in this case filled with a perfect balance of Burrata and sun dried tomato. This dish was the star of the night. Salmon tartare with avocado was also noteworthy, a generous portion, well constructed, and absolutely fresh. Several reasonably priced wines to choose between, and though I don't recall what we ordered, it was excellent.
The not-so good: This place is loud. A fact exacerbated by tables being packed quite close together. It does add to the happening vibe of the room, just don't plan a romantic dinner - or a chance to talk amongst a group without shouting. The food was good, though my cheeseburger was rather smaller than the bun it was served upon (a pet peeve of mine - Burger 101: the meat should at least make it to the edge of the bun!), and the cheddar cheese while flavorful looked as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp and developed a skin over the surface (see photo). Add to that a bun that was a bit over-toasted and fell apart while eating, and you have a somewhat disappointing dish. All of this was probably a result of sitting too long between cooking and being delivered to the table as we had quite a wait for our meal (in fairness, the restaurant was slammed). Other dishes of meatballs in curry sauce and mixed salad were good but unremarkable.
Prices are typical for the area, reservations strongly recommended.
