We made an early start and arrived just as the gates were about to open. To my surprise, the staff let us in a little ahead of schedule, giving me a few minutes to capture some shots of the flowers near the parking area. At that hour, parking was plentiful, and the tranquility set the tone for the visit. The staff were warm and accommodating, even letting us switch to a shaded table with an incredible view—one side framed by a vibrant rose garden and distant mountains, while the other offered a perspective of a town nestled between hills. As for the food, it left something to be desired. The bread slices were so thin they felt like one piece split into two, and the beef sausage wasn’t great—I left half of it untouched. Perhaps I’m a bit picky, as I tend to compare places against each other, but this meal didn’t quite meet expectations. That said, the overall experience was still worthwhile. The friendly service, stunning views, and the opportunity to explore the garden—where you can even purchase the roses you pick—more than made up for the shortcomings of the meal.

I tried calling a few times after their opening time and nobody answered. I then had to send an email to them, requesting to make a reservation today, only to be told that the phone was on silent. Upon arrival, I noticed they weren’t that busy, and neither were we assisted immediately - we waited a few minutes to be acknowledged. The menu isn’t that vast, but the food was fresh and the waitron was friendly. The rose garden is beautiful - however I’d highly recommend visiting this establishment on a warmer day as it would’ve been an even more wonderful experience sitting otherwise. Overall, we had a lovely time today!

We did not have a good experience on Sunday 6 October 2022. Service was chaotic as every time anyone came to our table it was a new face. My husband and I each took a dessert home as a takeaway - his lemon meringue was OK but not as good as in the days of The View at Chart Farm. My apple crumble was more of an apple tart with very bitter pastry and the worst of it was that I found mould on the pastry, so anything but fresh. We will not be back.
