Terrible experience. We arrive and have to get up after 10 minutes of waiting to ask for the order. We take two spritzes which we obviously bring to the table. We are offered nothing at all to eat and are therefore forced to get up again to ask (at least) for some chips. And to top it off, the bill: 20 euros for two spritzes brought to the table by us and without anything to eat! Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

This is one of classier cafes in Empoli and is definitely a favorite with locals. It is located in the center of Empoli right outside the pedestrian area and next to the main parking lot. A great place for a cappuccino or a quick snack, in the evenings Caffe Cristallo transforms into a bustling bar for the areas younger crowd. They offer a very decent apericena for €6 where with your drink is included snacks from the buffet table. If you're looking for a simple meal, this could even turn into a light dinner. Although the selection is limited, there is a good variety and the quality is very good. There is normally one or two pasta dishes, various pizzas, zeppole, a vegetable dip, sometimes fried veggies and other finger foods. The tables outdoors need some renovation work as they are quite worn but the indoors is quite nice and less crowded (the evening crowds tend to gather outdoors). I'm pretty sure that they also serve lunches during the day but I've never been so I can't say what's it's like. However if you are in Empoli and looking for a pleasant pitstop, this is a good choice.
