Bewertung des Guide Michelin

Drei MICHELIN Sterne: Einzigartige Küche. Eine Reise lohnt sich!
Exzellenter Standard. Unsere besten Adressen.

In their brick villa, Tim Boury and Inge Waeles have clearly puzzled, pondered and finetuned each detail from the attentive service and felicitous food-wine pairings to the fashionably stylish interior and the gorgeous patio and bar. The buzzy casual vibe is ample proof that perfection is not necessarily starched and stuffy... Mehr Informationen

This was our first 3 Michelin star experience, so the expectations were over the roof. We have been to 1 star restaurants around Belgium a few times already, so we know what the experience should be like ;). It's Monthers' Day weekend, so we only had one choice: menu Boury, priced at 335€ excluding drinks. We were fortunate with the weather so we had the opportunity of having our apperitif and starters in the sunny garden before being seated at our table inside, which I really liked. We heard a couple of comments from the hostess that struk a wrong cord with me. She first mistakenly assumed we do not eat pork (perhaps because of our darker features?) which we politely corrected. She followed it with "oh sorry then it must be another table". Of course it can be an honest mistake but what followed kind of made it clear it wasn't. She asked if we will go for the wine pairings and I said I do not feel like a lot of wine, so I might have one glass. She then referred us to the non-alcoholic option :/. Again, I respectfully corrected her and confirmed that I do drink alcohol (and we clearly had 2 champagne glasses in front of us), I just do not feel like multiple glasses and she said she will send the sommelier. So was it our features that made her think we do not eat pork or drink alcohol? Perhaps. It could have also been just an honest mistake, but I would expect better from the hostess of the year 2026, that's all. People are very sensitive these days, and other guests might have taken offense. Now for the food: Each and every dish looked and tasted good. I cannot say that I was blown away with each and every one of them though. Some were just fine for me and unexciting (the salmon trout and the quail), and some really stood out (Wagyu taco, a heavenly brioche provençal, and 'Ocietre' caviar). Both desserts had the flavors of my dreams. Super fresh, tanguy, and playful with layers. What disappointed me was the meringue of the vacherin. The taste and smell of egg was very noticeable and a proper meringue should not have that. It was a shame because the fillings were exquisite. The service was something else. It was clear that the Boury team had different levels of knowledge. We were served by almost all staff members and you could very clearly see who is still "green". I also did not appreciate that despite the fact that our table was visited by multiple servers, it took a long time before one of them noticed the breadcrumbs on the table cloth and decided to finally sweep it. The sweeping itself was not skillful and a good part of the crumbs ended up on me... After we finished our meal, we were invited back to the garden in case we wanted a coffee or something. I ordered a coffee and my husband said he did not want anything. We both received coffees so he ended up drinking his even though he did not order it. We paid and left. On our way home I was curious about the cost of coffee in such a place. It was a whopping 17€ which I found ridiculous and funny. What I also noticed was that they charged us an aperitif that we did not order but it was too lat as my husband did not check when he settled the bill. Total 850€ (2 menus, water, 2 glasses of wine, 2 glasses of champagne, 1 coffee, and 1 mistakenly added aperitif). I was disappointed. I found that there were one too many small things that should not have happened in a 3 Michelin star restaurant. I would not go back. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: None Dietary restrictions: The restaurant mentions on their website that you should lef them know at the time of booking if there are any restrictions so that they can accomodate you Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot Kid-friendliness: Absolutely not. You do not bring kids to a 3 star setting
