Loved this place! It’s a hidden gem for coffee and sandwiches. We stayed a few doors down and discovered it while (desperately) looking for coffee. Vincenzo (aka Enzo), the owner, was such a nice guy! Super pleasant and friendly. Thank you Vincenzo! We loved our espresso macchiato, your pleasant attitude and great service! Bar Latteria is nearby the Valle Aurelia metro stop (about a 10 minute walk) in a residential area of Rome. We were staying nearby and went to this cafe every morning before heading out for our day in Rome. The owner (wearing a signature white hat) and his wife prepare fresh sandwiches (panini) each morning, and they have a nice espresso machine for your early morning coffee (the locals grab the super hot espresso and down it in one gulp before leaving their one euro and heading out - way too hot for me, but pretty impressive! Maybe give it a try?). I would recommend the egg and zucchini sandwich (heated), the sandwich with fresh mozzarella, arugula, and tomatoes on a wonderfully thin ciabatta-like bread, and the salami sandwich with mozzarella cheese. The pastries are also pretty tasty alongside the espresso. I particularly enjoyed the apple tart and custard filled pastry (looked a little like croissant). You can also buy alcohol, soda, and water there and hang out at the few small tables inside. I would absolutely recommend it if you are staying in the area - a cheap and delicious breakfast!
