As soon as you drive through the gates to Assinaro you are transported to another world. Surrounded by orange and lemon groves it's easy to forget that the city of Noto is just a couple of minutes away. The service is friendly and efficient and the food delicious. We had the most incredible fresh Sicilian tuna which had been delivered from Portopalo only that afternoon. Lovely home made puddings and their own Limoncello production - you can't get any more authentic!! We'll definitely be back when we are next in Noto.

Nice location, good food, unpleasant atmosphere..We were on the road and decided spontanously to have dinner, because in 4 years living in Italy our experience with agriturismi has always been very good. Situated in the middle of lemontrees, nice furniture, at the first glimpse, it's a lovely place although it's not really an agriturismo. In retroprospective, our feeling wasn't the best one already, when they organized our table, the two young people in charge, especially the guy, were not very friendly. The menu was convincing, but unfortunately the only meat-secondo (involtini) was out. They suggested the fish-involtini instead... The quality of the dishes was good, the problem was that they obviously forgot one. After almost 10 minutes waiting we asked and she said: Yes, it's coming soon. When it finally arrived - some of us had conpletely finished their dinner - we think that it's not very nice not to eat together, and only then she admitted that they forgot and she excused. Before: no excuse at all... Everybody can forget something, the point is how you handle the situation. What's more, our dinner was interrupted several times because they were very in a hurry to clear the table. We had to keep attention that they don't take away what we were about to eat. At the end, we have to say that after exclusively positive experiences in Sicily this was the first dinner we couldn't enjoy (and at the sime time the most expensive one!). Good food and wine is not enough, the host should be able to create a nice atmosphere.
