Alpha Hummus House is easily one of the standout food experiences in Dahab. Over a 20-day stay, this was my top recommendation without hesitation. The food is simple in concept but executed at an exceptional level. The hummus is among the best I’ve had—perfectly smooth, balanced, and clearly made fresh. The baba ghanoush carries a deep, clean smokiness without heaviness. We also tried their freshly baked manakeesh (Levantine flatbread) and a spinach-filled pastry (fatayer-style), both coming out warm, fragrant, and prepared with clear attention to detail. Everything tastes like it’s made to order, not assembled. What truly differentiates this place is the atmosphere: the owner treats you less like a customer and more like a guest in his home. That level of hospitality is rare and elevates the entire experience. If you are in Dahab and appreciate authentic, well-prepared Middle Eastern food, this place is essential. I’ve been here 3–4 times now, and it truly feels like a hidden local gem. This is hands down the best falafel I’ve ever had—perfectly warm and crispy, made fresh right in front of you. The hummus paired with the falafel is an absolute match. The za’atar with olive oil is incredible, and the bread is warm, slightly crispy on the outside, and soft inside—fresh from the oven with fire. The herbal tea is a must-try—it has a fresh flavor. The place is run by two friends from Jordan who serve very traditional and delicious Jordanian food using fresh ingredients from the local market. The open kitchen is spotless, and you can watch everything being prepared, which makes the experience even better. The vibe is relaxed and chill, and the owners are genuinely kind, friendly, and easy to talk to—it feels more like chatting with friends than being at a restaurant. They’re also very honest; once when I ordered too much, they kindly pointed out that it might be more than I could finish. Another time, the owner even offered me an herbal remedy for stomach discomfort, which I used on a bus ride—it helped even just by the smell. I really appreciate finding this little spot and getting a true taste of local Jorden food. On top of everything, the prices are very affordable.
