Great food.
I’m a tourist from the US. I don’t know what the bad reviews are all about. The price for a buffet dinner here is about the price you’d pay for a regular seat-in meal in Iceland. For that the price is excellent for what you get. The food was absolutely amazing! Delicious and cooked perfectly. We came in at the right time when they were having their happy hour so we got a bottle for half off. Highly recommended!
There really aren't enough words to describe how fabulous their Sunday brunch is. We were a bit peckish this morning and uninspired by the sensible bread we had packed (in order not to dine out every meal of vacation). After debating the merits of consuming a single meal that would be an entire day's food budget (or more) at home in the states, the husband and I decided that we were on holiday and should live it up a bit. We arrived immediately at their 11:30 start time and were rewarded with the chance to sit by the open gas fire in decorative rock. It made for very warm and atmospheric seating. The room is pleasantly decorated in an earthy modern theme, as is the lobby of the hotel, Natura, in which it sits. Like many fancy brunch spots, it's divided into themed stations. There was a cold salad area that quickly became our favorite. We each enjoyed at least two servings of the grilled veggie salad and beet salad. The cold station also had two salmon varieties and accompanying sauces. There were a number of other salads and smoothies. The hot area included fresh carved lamb, breaded fish, hotdog rolls done gourmet style (we read that hotdogs are enjoyed in Icelandic cuisine), pizza station, warm sauces, quiche, bacon, eggs, pancakes, eggs Benedict, soup, baked Brie, bread, and probably quite a few things that I have failed to mention. It took a restorative coffee or two before we could even consider the dessert area. We shared some samples. I was most impressed by the mango tart, and my husband by a rich chocolate creme brûlée. In conclusion, if you have it to spend, the Satt Sunday brunch buffet is a relative bargain at around $70 USD for two. The environment is lovely with food and beverages that were plentiful, varied, and of superb quality. My favorites remain the cold grilled vegetables, beet salad, lox, coffee and mango tart.
